    Anybody ever had this.
Got some nice glassware with the logo on it.
Big fan of these types of beer but it doesn't seem to be on sale here, or can someone prove me wrong?

    Or Harvest.

Not sure what you mean by "these types of beer", OP. There are a lot of beers from the other major German wheat beer breweries around, like Schneider, Erdinger and Paulaner, for instance.

    Hi
Yeah I meant Wheat Beers mainly. Well aquainted with Erdinger, Paulaner and Schlofferhoffer. Was just wondering as I'm always on teh lookout for something new. Can't stop drinkin Hoegaarden ATM......belgians do it so differently.....:D

Weihenstephan do a great range of beer.
The Dunkelweiss being one I'm particularly fond of.
Their Korbinian is pretty amazing too.
Hefe is a very good example of the style.
Their pils is good, standard fare.
Tradition is well worth a try too.

You said it. Partial to a Hoegaarden myself. Now if only Aldi was to start stocking it.

Nice alright, just be aware that are two different types of wheat beer with some very different yeast and spices

aye your talking of wheat bear, wiesse(erdinger, paulaner, franiskaner) and witte/blanche(hoegaarden, watou's wit, Bruges)
anyway Abbots in cork, World Wide Wines in Waterford and I haven't been but I assume Redmonds in Raneleigh at very least will stock the full whack of the Weihenstephaner (Y-en-steffan), the beer revolu above mentioned the korbinian and dunklen obviously very strong, delicious, reasonable heavy dark beers.
The Vitus wins it for me though, tasty beverage that, just ahead of the hefe weisse.
Of Pubs, Abbots off license not only has them all on bottle but the Bar upstairs does too, and has the Hefe Weisse (regular) and Vitus on tap permanently. the Bierhaus have most of them on bottle, and I probably shouldn't know this but the Pavilion also has bottles of just the Hefe Weisse (all cork for anyone who doesn't know.)

    Overall strongly recommended.

    Ok, I love GuldenBand
    To drink
And I love a stew made with beer
And I know GuldenBand is famous for stew
But is it not very sour?
    I really must try it.
Aventinus makes an amazing beef stew

I wouldn't of thought it the very best idea but think of the bitterness in relation to some wines that are used in sauces, there's alot more going on in GoudenBand than bitterness and sourness (I'm not preaching, you probably know the beer as well are better then myself).

Lol nah can't say I have and I pride myself on not turning my nose up at a beer before tasting. But there's just something about Tesco Value that gives me a negative vibe.

Any of the country's good beer off licences would be worth checking, though. Harvest in Galway, for instance. Or World Wide Wines in Waterford, should you happen to be in that direction.

Franciscan Well (Cork) also does it.

Theres a special offer in Harvest off license at fr. griffin rd Galway.
4 bottles of Weihenstephaner Tradition for €5, its past its best before date though, (22/04/09).

I wouldn't worry about the date on that for at least 6 months!

Also be on the look out for recently out of date Vitus. Im told it will be in The Abbott's in Cork this week sometime!

Very good price on the Tradition, though you'll never get through the four bottles in one sitting without a knife and fork.
