Trying to connect to wireless...

    Hey guys,

    I recently changed my wireless ID, so as ppl cant leach...

    Only problem now is my laptop wont pick up the router anymore...

    I have it connected through a cable right now, i had static ip, but i got rid of it when net stopped working, but just wondering can anybody help...

    Eircom router 2247...

    I know its something basic, but im braindead at the mo...

    are you on vista
    you may need to go into network and sharing center
    then manage wireless networks
    highlight the old ssid and remove

    rescan,

    are you sure you didnt knock off the wireless switch...ive done it myself many times !! :pac:

    Ah got it sorted... changed the wep key and had to change the 'key index to #2'

    If you are worrying about people leeching then you should not be using wep change your security to wpa.
