Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i have no idea how he came to that decision, bizarre to say the least. But he's offside so justice was done.

    So GTFO yourself.

i dont know how you've come to that decision,he was clearly onside

Nice finish. Should be very comfortable in the second half.

great goal by Gibson after another ****e free kick from Ronaldo. getting pretty sick of him taking free kicks.

Thought he played very well in the last game against Derby. The game before that he wasn't exceptional but he was better than Anderson, Scholes and Nani and was rightly kept on the pitch for the 90.

Yep, was also out of position on the wing.

    BBC

OK. Apparently, the linesman was not sure whether Ryan Giggs had touched Ben Foster's throw on for Cristiano Ronaldo so he had to wait to check with the referee before confirming the offside decision. He was marginally offside so it was the right decision... eventually.

The commentators are suddenly commending the linesman after the explanation but how the hell did he not see Giggs' flick on?

More of the same in the second half please.

Ah I knew Gibson would deliver after me admitting I'd no faith in him.

    I stand corrected!

    Giggs' passing today is lovely.

Should 2nd goal have been disallowed for Park blocking the keepers view ala the disallowed irish goal in midweek.

i was going to say but i didn't want my head bitten off for a second time. Could have went either way to be honest.

Gibson goal onside? Considering Andrews for Ireland.

    Edit- Beat to it :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭besty

Fairly slick stuff so far. More of the same please in the second half. Hopefully Nani can up it further in the second half and really let loose on Derby. I'd like to see Gibson and Fletch really dominate after the break too.

    yap whatawaster you were right

    he was offside

    i apologise,you can stay ;)

Ronaldo has a better chance from corner kicks than direct free kicks :D

A BLOODY BLIND MAN HAS A BETTER CHANCE OF HITTING THE TARGET FROM A FREE-KICK THAN RONALDO.

Time to relieve the guy of free-kicks as he is utter muck. Hargreaves was good but obviously injured. Just give someone else a go.

time to take off Ronaldo and Rio id say

Giggs is a proven free kick taker, there is also park and gibson has a good strike

Giggs has always impressed me from direct free kicks. I agree that Ronaldo is too inconsistent but often the object of his free kicks are to force a parry from the keeper, and score from the rebound. I'd keep him on the ones from distance but for closer ones I'd suggest Hargreaves/Giggs

This has been much easier than expected for Utd.

    I'd have Tevez on the close-range free's

what's the story with this walbeck fello. Need to send him out on loan for a season or two. He needs to put on a few pounds and toughen the fuvk up.

    not his fault

    playing in the wrong position

put nani on the right,Ronaldo on the left and wellbeck up front

i was expecting the above when wellbeck came on

very strange that it hasnt happened

Give him a bit of time tbh. He's still very young. Always looks lively and works hard. With Rooney's injury, I'm not sure we could afford to lose him as a back up though i agree more game time would help him.

Yeah completely agree. I wouldnt blame him for any of the goals he's conceded this season, but I dont think he's kept a clean sheet so far

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

Great save from Foster. Need to stop that Teale dude.

    What a goal

    Welbeck

    4 - 1

Similar to David Villa's last night against Seville

Welbeck could have played first team last year. Great finish just there too.

    Henry like you could say.
