    I think this works

There is still room for a false edge so I'll get that on tomorrow (Have to head out for a confirmation today)

Let me know what you think

Thought your first blade was better had an original look to it and seemed to be more robust and practical.

Now this is starting to get good :D

First blade ground from suminagashi ....

You can really see the layering effect already.

    Davy,

    Excellent.

How do you like working with suminagashi steel?

I have a few Japanese laminated /damascus woodworking chisels and they hold a very good edge.

    Hi Folks

Time for a progress update before I take a short break. I'm off to Knives UK this weekend to try to sell my wares and to chance my arm in a few competitions. So I'll be away from PC for a bit.

The Blade has now been given it's false edge and it's now ready for Heat Treating. Stuart Mitchell a renowned Sheffield Knifemaker and a good friend is taking on the responsibility of heat treating the blade. Stuart has worked with Suminagashi before and knows exactly what it takes to get it done right first time. I'm taking the blade with me to Bristol where it will be placed in Stuarts capale hands.

Paul Donnelan the other Irish maker who has been helping with the handle design has agreed be involved throughout the rest of the build. Paul and I have agreed to join forces on this and a couple of other projects and so the joint ventures (this one included) will be branded with a completely new makers mark.

    Banshee Ireland

    BANSHEE.jpg

The "Clunky" Skinner we accidently discovered earlier in the build will be developed also. We both seem to be agreed that it will make a great knife.

It's a busy, exciting time (at least for me anyway) things are starting to come together and the knife is going to be a cracker I think.

I'll talk to ye when I have any updates, wish me luck in Bristol

    Regards

    Davy

Chadwicks Building providers have standard fire bricks used for the back of fire places.
