Harry Brown - really good movie. I was delighted when I saw Emily Mortimer, didn't know she was in it, I love her! :)

The Godfather - wanted to watch the 2nd one but had only seen the 1st one once, a few years ago, and couldn't remember a thing. It's good, and long, very long! Will probably watch the 2nd one later tonight.

Harry Brown - Seems to be doing the rounds at the minute, an excellent film. Top notch acting from Caine, he really gets across the feeling of loneliness.

Submission Part 1 - The film Theo Van Gogh was murdered for making. Its a very powerful story from a young Muslim woman about the life she is forced to lead.

The Fall - haven't seen it in a while and managed to get a bluray copy. It's still completely breathtaking! Easily one of, if not my favourite movie ever!

Body of Lies---great acting from Leo and from Mark Strong. Russell Crowe (literally) phones it in though.

    Legion---immense crapitude.

Drag Me to Hell---great horror flick, silly fun and scary.

Deadwood (all of it)---wow. Just wow. Wish it hadn't been cancelled.

I'd recommend The Road, and if you like space zombies, Serenity.

watched the edukators last nite on film four. i had seen it when it first came out but had almost forgotten how good it was. the story centres around three young people with socialist revolutionary ideals who break into rich 'bourgeoise' people houses but do not steal anything, just move around all the furniture and leave a message.. i wont give anything else away but i would highly recommend it

Charlie Varrick (1973), a slightly minor but nonetheless perfectly enjoyable entry in the Don Siegel cannon, a tale of big money, big hats and big skies in New Mexico as Walter Matthaus titular character pulls a routine bank heist but gets away with far more loot than expected. The mafia would like thier cash back.

All the classic Siegel elements are in place - low lifes, terse dialogue, characterful cast, crisp action, and a sardonic anti-hero who
is happy enough to set-up his somewhat flaky sidekick and burn his wifes body as she'd be unhelpful evidence otherwise and yet retain our goodwill.

Its the film that you are supposed to love not the tin! Why didn't you just watch it on TV rather than blow a wad of cash on something you either knew you didn't like much or had'nt seen before?

Ah to be fair.. it's €7 for a 5 disc collector's edition, hardly a "wad of cash".

It'd probably close to a €5 to rent it - seeing as it's the more recently released "The Final Cut" edition.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans - I have not seen a performace like that from Cage since Leaving Las Vegas.
I like the quirky humour in this film.
