The actual definition is so stupid.

pH is the negative logarithm to the base 10 of the concentration of H+ ions in moles per litre.

to persuade is to get someone to do something; to convince is to get someone to think something
Maths: how do you know that a matrix has no inverse?

    Requirements to have an Inverse

    1. The matrix must be square (same number of rows and columns).
    2. The determinant of the matrix must not be zero. This is instead of the real number not being zero to have an inverse, the determinant must not be zero to have an inverse.

At LC level, you don't come across matrices which aren't square ones. If the matrix has no inverse, the determinant is zero :)
