Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    .....well almost all.

If one were to buy doors, floors, bathroom suites and showers in one place, how much discount would you expect on a 2800 sq ft build?

In current times, I wonder if individual sale deals could be surpassed by a, say, €20k spend?

    Hi Dr Nick

Get two prices and compare €20g talks big time. There are astronomical prices out there at present. Haggle and you will get the deals of your life. The building game and suppliers are under severe pressure for sales, prices are dropping.

    Good luck with the €20k

it all depends on the product you want
the expensive products are still dear but the economy side of things is well down
e.g an oak veneer door that I sold for €120 is now €90
oak / cherry solid floor has dropped 20% in the past year.
this is mainly due to suppliers becoming more competitive and trying to move on alot of stock stuck in warehouses and on containers etc.
Most of the dearer stuff is special order so stock wise you wouldn't be carrying it.

Big sales on at the moment. Building a 3100ft house got all my internal doors (Solid oak shaker and 2 sets of double doors) hinges, handles, locks, skirting, arcatreve(sp) door stop and saddle boards all for just over €4000

I have 2 ensuites, a bathroom a shower room and a back loo. Bought all the bathroom wear for exactly €6000.

Getting my stairs done for €1700 fitted.

So I think €20,000 will even buy the kitchen if you play your cards right. PM me if you want the names of these suppliers. I'm in Meath

I think u get the jist. Get quotations. More importantly, Get written quotations and check that if you amend them the prices are not amended!

You should get 3 or 4 prices and compare as there are huge variations between suppliers now. I built in 2007 but wish I was building now.
