Life after Leisure Management in DIT

Hey all, dont know if this is the right place to bring this up or not but my girlfriend is in her final year of Leisure Management in DIT and to be honest, is a bit depressed about her prospects thereafter. She is not overly keen on doing a postgrad course, partially because its so bloody hard to find one that recognises her degree. Has anybody got any tips or advice on what the next step could be? What postgrad courses actually recognise her degree? What career opportunities lie ahead of her?
The DIT website says very little about it and its coming to the stage now where she is genuinely concerned about whats going to happen after June.

Thanks very much for your help,
    AV

    Hi AV,

I would recommend that your girlfriend go directly to her lecturers and the careers service and ask for advice asap. The lecturers have worked in the field and the careers service are supposed to help with just that, careers. Afaik, Leisure Recreation is a big field so she shouldnt be too stressed. She might not get her ideal job but she should be hopeful for smething in the right field.

I cant advise on post-grad courses, mainly because I dont know of any in particular that would suit your GF without her expressing her interests. Like does she want to go into a specific area or does she want to do a conversion course in business or otherwise. (Its more of a question for the Postgraduate forum but I'll leave the thread here for the other questions).
