    Hi,

    Anybody got a video recording of Shatner on The Late Late Show with Gay Byrne back in the '90's (at the time he was promoting THE FINAL FRONTIER) and Ross' interview with Shatner from last week?

    I remember that interview. He was amazed at how young the country was which Gay Byrne replied, "you must be joking!" He was of course referring to the young people! Then he met some "trekkies" in the audience. These people seemed to be over-whelmed by him! biggrin.gif Good memories though.

    hello Koloman,

    it was a great interview - he got along very well with Gaybo :cool:

    do you remember the twank who called the show and got to ask the Shat a question live and started whinging that Shatner was talking down to the audience by explaining terms in his stories that he thought might mean different things in this country

    the whole audience was mortified by the caller and gaybo told him politely to cop on but shatner delighted everyone by responding with how clever and beatiful our population is but how the slightest remark can cause us offence on an epic scale

    it was a great interview

    My memory is a bit vague on the caller who had a go at Shatner, but you are right about the interaction between Byrne and Bill. They got on like a house on fire. Gay got a lot more out of him than Tubridy did the other week! Good memories.
