Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I will be arriving in Darwin towards the end of June and am considering driving from Darwin to Ayers Rock. Has anybody done this and if so how long did it take? Are there many sights/stop off's along the way?

Whilst I have my trip planned before I hit Oz (Asia etc) what I plan on doing when I arrive in Oz is a bit hazy but am definitley interested in renting a campervan/car and driving for a few weeks.

    Any tips appreciated
    Thanks

A few places to stop along the way like Tennants Creek, Kimberely Gorge and Kakadu National PArk. Probably would take 3-4 days.

You might get a more knowledgable response of you ask one of the Mods to move this to the Australia/New Zealand Travel Board.

There's a few things to see as mentioned in the above post. But it's mostly nothing. But its the sheer vastness of nothing which makes it special. I travelled from Darwin to Cairns which took us 4 days. You got to see the real outback. Wouldn't do it again but glad of the experience.
