Nine couples boldly get engaged at Detroit Star Trek exhibition

They came from as far as New York City, some with friends and family to share in the special moment, and by the end of Valentine's Day 2009 nine couples had become engaged to be married in Star Trek The Exhibition at the Detroit Science Center, WWJ Radio reported.

The engagements took place as part of a promotion hosted by the Detroit Science Center to kick off the Midwest debut of Star Trek The Exhibition, a traveling exhibit of ships, set re-creations, costumes and props from five television series and 10 films over the last 40-plus years.

The nine newly engaged couples are now entered into an online contest in which the public can vote for whom they would like to receive the Star Trek The Exhibition Ultimate Wedding Package, which includes private use of the exhibition, reception space at the Detroit Science Center for 200 guests and two nights' accommodations for the wedding couple at the Star Trek Suite at the MGM Grand Detroit Hotel and Casino. Voting ends March 16 at 5 p.m. ET.

The Answer is probally not, im sure if i was in love with someone who wanted to do that i probally would but i wouldnt be the one who wants to do it.

Maybe, if Seven was the bride;):pac:

(And Patrick Stewart would have to be the minister)

I wouldn't mind getting married on the Bridge of the Enterprise ...

If the guy I was marrying was also a trekkie I'd be up for it. I'm not religious in the slightest so would see the whole thing as a bit of fun and something for the relatives to talk about! Went to see the exhibition twice when it was in London a few years back and the ship area is lot more of an interesting space than a registery office and hotel function room.

Unfortunately I imagine that in order to win, they have to be the sort of freaks that give ordinary trekkies a bad name
