    Labour Market Activation Initiatives

    Have you recently been made redundant or are you currently in receipt of Social Welfare Benefits?

    IADT is now offering 3 business programmes, running form March to September, at Year 1 level.
    Who can apply?

    These programmes are open to persons in receipt of qualifying payments for 12 months from the Department of Social & Family Affairs OR those persons who have received Statutory Redundancy since September 2007 who have established an entitlement to a Social Welfare payment.
    Programmes available include:

    DL245 - Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Entrepreneurship (year 1). Level 8 Award
    DL231 - Bachelor of Business in Enterprise (year 1). Level 7 Award
    DL243 - Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Entrepreneurship (add-on programme from DL231). Level 8 Award

    Minimum entry requirements

    DL245 – Level 8 Award
    Leaving Certificate examination (or equivalent) with a minimum of grade C3 in 2 higher (or common) level papers together with Grade D3 in 4 other subjects to include English, Mathematics, and 1 other language, e.g. Irish, French, etc. Foundation level Maths (D3) is acceptable.

    OR
    Applicants with FETAC awards require distinctions in 3 (of 8) modules. FETAC Awards accepted are:

    BBSAX – Administration
    BBSXX – Business Studies
    BMXXX – Marketing

    OR

    Mature applicants (at least 23 on the 1st January) will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

    DL231 – Level 7 Award
    Leaving Certificate Examination (or equivalent) with a minimum of grade D in five subjects which must include Mathematics and English. Foundation level Maths (D3) is acceptable.

    OR

    FETAC Award - A full FETAC Award at Level 5 or 6.

    OR

    Mature applicants (at least 23 on the 1st January) will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

    DL243 – Level 8 Award
    An Ordinary Degree (Level 7 Award) in Business (60 credits and an overall GPA of 2.00 (40%))

    Programme Fees

    The FREE FEES scheme will apply to all of the programmes.

    These programmes are targeted at those who wish to advance their level of education and wish to avail of higher education opportunities in the future. The course content is based upon developing real skills, which can be applied in practical entrepreneurial and commercial environments.

    Information Sessions

    You are invited to attend an Information Session on Thursday, 19th February from 2.30pm to 3.30pm OR on Monday, 23rd February from 2.30pm to 3.30pm

    Closing date for applications is Wednesday, 25th February 2009
    Programmes will commence on Monday, 2nd March 2009
