Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If anyone can give me advice on how to fix there or anywhere i can fix this...

I have a 19in Samsung LCD TV and on sunday i turned it on as normal.. the picture came on for about 2secs then done a couple of little flicks and faded out to black pure black..

The sound still works and i can change the channel and still hear the new channle but still a jet black screen. I bought it this time last year and cant find the receipt.. is there any specialist that would fix this or anyone here who knows how to... or how much it would cost is it even worth it?

    thanks in advance.

Can you see a very vague outline of the picture? It could be that the backlight has died.

It is most likely that its the backlight or inverter alright. The problem is that sometimes the backlights and inverters cost 25% or more of the price of a new telly (if you can find them at all that is)... a quick look on ebay has this:

That might not be the correct model for your screen, but some of the links might be handy

Yea sounds like could be the backlight.. ill look into it but more than likely keep my money to get a new larger one... i use it for tv and the xbox would thsi have any bearing on it switching between different sources?

also if i get a new one are samsungs any use it thought they were but this has let me down big time!

Flicking through sources shouldn't really have an effect on backlight lifespan.

Since it's only a year old, push for a repair under warranty. AFAIR, there would be a manufacture date on the back of the TV.

There's a Euro law somewhere that says goods like this should be guaranteed for at least 2 years.

Well, it's certainly a good price.

If you don't mind going for another Samsung, go for it.

My personally preferred brands are Sony and Panasonic, but to each their own.
