waste water heat recovery

I have never heard of this but it seems like a really good idea. It says it will pay for itself in 2 to 5 years but how much is the initial outlay?

my architect was telling me about heat recovery sustems yesterday....all about making house airtight....costs about 10k to implement he reckoned

I think this system is different to heat recovery systems that we are used to in Ireland as it recovers heat from waste hot water.
