    its €10 to go up Scalp Mountain, at least thats what the sign said the last time I went up :rolleyes:

    Yeah it's €10 to use the concrete driveway that the farmer made that goes all the way to the top of the hill (eastern side) 2km's long i think, i think its not a bad idea its his land after all and he went to great expense to complete the drive. You can still climb up the mountain to the mass rock at the top from the burnfoot end.

    it was €10 per car. On reflection, I thought this charge may have been to stop the endless stream of traffic that would be traveling up the road on what appeared to be private land, which is understandable. The road seems to cut through private land. I didn't realise that the farmer had developed this road himself.. (sorry, off topic)
