A sad pic. The old NSs were marked on the old half inch OS maps but gone from the Discovery series. Useful as land marks as they give the townland name on the wee stone above the door.

The pic I posted a while back was of the beach below the signal tower and the WW11 LOP at Crohy Head, now known as Beach 74.

Off- topic, I know, but who is coming up with these awful names for beaches?
"Beach 74" (or any other number, for that matter!), doesn't sound remotely appealing! The old names were far better, imo.

Sounds like the title of a new sci-fi book or film

I cannot see any other name for that beach, below both Crohy Tower and LOP 74. not on OSI map viewer anyways.
It also has a fantastic sea arch and what are probably sea weed (wrack) stone enclosures at the top of the, er, slide down.

this sea arch?..or is there another one? I believe the locals call it the breeches or the britches

Hah! Thats the clue. Get that and you'll get the area.

I will hold my hands up and say I was being a little devious when I mentioned that people in the west of the county should find it easy. Its not in the west of the county ;)

Thats it........I think. I was trying to find the little parking area that I took the photo from on google maps and bing maps but couldnt get it. They must have constructed that parking spot fairly recently.
