Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I will be arriving in Kuala Lumpur at the end of March, staying there for a couple of days and then heading up to the islands for 6 weeks or so has anybody made this trip before, is it best to do it by plane/train/bus?

    Any advice/tips appreciated.

    Thanks

I recommend taking a bus from KL to Penang, staying there for a few days cos it's a really cool place, getting a ferry to Langkawi (didn't stay there, but supposed to be a nice island), from there get a speedboat to Koh Lipe (it's the first island you get to when you cross from malaysia to thailand and it's GORGEOUS) and then you're about 3 hours by ferry to koh lanta and all that area. Take a look on the map and you'll see what I mean. Just basically, instead of crossing thailand by land, you'll cross by sea, and hit a few cool and fairly diverse islands on the way.
