Sorry if this in an obvious question. Is there somewhere that has records for the hottest Irish summers of the last 50 years or so.

I've looked around and can't seem to find anything.

    Thanks in advance.

Perhaps not, but the CSO have the monthly means and max/mins temperatures etc of the synoptic stations from late 50s onwards.

I have these stats in spreadsheet on my computer so I can come up with answers to various questions.

Are you interested in highest temperatures or overall mean figures, for a specific station or generally overall?

    This.

Was just out of curiosity, not essential.

    The ones that come to my mind are 2006, 2003, 1995, 1983, 1976, 1975.
The following are the overall means for Summer (Jun, Jul, Aug) for 9 stations.
Belmullet, Birr, Casement, Cork AP, Dublin AP, Malin Head, Mullingar, Shannon AP, Valentia.

    1995 16.3
    1983 15.8
    1976 15.8
    2006 15.7
    2003 15.5
    1989 15.4
    1984 15.3
    1975 15.3

At the other end of scale.
    1972 13.2
    1985 13.4
    1986 13.5
    1978 13.7
    1974 13.7
    1965 13.7

    The last 2 summers were
    2007 14.6
    2008 14.7

I've gone back to 1964 with the above.
