Toned down that could look quite good.

Rear end is a train wreck though

1.3 on the book would be the main selling point.

20 Year old 1.8 Escort with 130,000 miles on the clock. I can describe that car in one word: SCRAP

Only a complete idiot would pay 1500 for that

Why do you keep making reference to age?

Does that mean my 26 year old Sierra 2.0 petrol is fit for scrap aswel as the 16 year old Mitsubishi and the 20 year old Escort??

The generartion of Escort was Crap

    Sierra's are good cars

Never said the Evo was scrap. Just said it wasnt worth near 30k

1 way looking at That evo 6 though is it most likely get 30k+ back in immediate future where as the modern car is going to drop in value and need a decade to see decent return.

    Possibly

    It's a limited market
(I'm an Evo Fanatic, I think it's the best all round sports car you can buy. Still wouldn't spend 30k on a TME though)

That generation of Escorts were always junk though. Its not like its a Mk2 Escort.

I had 3 escorts of that age, obviously not mk2 class, but scrap is a bit unfair no? Mine never gave trouble except the cat on 2 of them. Sluggish, and petrol guzzlers but I wouldn't say scrap. That looks gammy though.

    75,000km's, 21 years old, Standard... only £21,000 (€26,578)

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/toyota-supra-rz-twin-turbo-manual/12205460
    118,500 km's, 23 years old, Standard... only £18,000

Clean cars in fairness but WAY over the top in terms of Price.

Again for the millionth time, they aren't overpriced.
People are willing to pay this for GTR's, manual 2j Supra's etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭millington

I think both of those are overpriced. The Supra has the wrong gearbox and gammy wheels and the R33, well it's an R33 :o I like them but that is a fair bit more expensive than importing a good R32 which are generally worth as much and more than a 33

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

The 33 might be a tad over the top but the Supra is actually a little cheaper than the norm.
And as for wanting an auto Supra, well that's blasphemy :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

agreed. i think the 33 is a bit excessive, but for a clean TT, manual Supra, that's the way prices are going.

Going to assume 6 speed manual over 5 speed...

Ah yes missed that small point :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭millington

The Supra should have a V160 6 speed but that ones 5 speed so must be a W58 or an R154 which would make me think it's a conversion.

    Sorry,
But if you have enough money (£21,000) to spend (p*** away) on a +20 Year old GTR
(Or any forced induction machine for that matter)

Then surely you could get together another £16/17k and get a 2009/10 model,
Cause you'd be paying close to half that if anything goes wrong with it.
And lets face it, the car is old, the chances of something going wrong are HIGH!

Trust me, I've been this person
    I've learned my lesson! LOL

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

I'd still buy the old one :)

No interest in the new one at all!

    I appriciate that ;)

I'd still buy an Evo VI RS 450 over the new Evo X If I could get one that's just rolled off the production line! LOL

But I never will be able to. :(

Id buy a TME or a nice IX over an X and I'd have an R34 GTR over an R35 even though the 34 is getting even more expensive.

I wouldn't call it pissing away money. If anything it's more sensible as these cars are appreciating and the R35 has a long way to go before appreciating.

Why do people constantly refer to age on here? Some people just prefer older cars to newer and are willing to pay for them.

    I'd much much rather have a R32 or R33 over an R35.

Any yes I'v spent 5 figures on a 25 year old Ford with a turbo strapped on. There is NO other car I'd rather have.

Considering the trouble the Supra owner took with the photos of the outside, lack of photos of the inside suggests it's in sh1te

Mad bastard of a price, even 2.5 would be high.
But, it does look pretty clean and has a nice spec inside.
But he is in Lala land if he thinks people will be ringing up for that.

A 5 door version of the worst GTi? Surely the 4 in front of the 500 is a mistake
