Ah lads. A clean car for sure but seriously...

    €8000

From the ad it looks like that car had a nice bit of tin worm.

1 of only 150? Seriously? Can someone familiar with VW's confirm or contradict this claim please?

    I think that's actually true.

To the best of my knowledge there were 1000 right hand drive 'anniversary' models made in 1996 with 850 being 8v and 150 being 16v. Not sure about the numbers for the European market..

I used own a 16v anniversary myself and I miss it dearly (rotten sills and all) :)

Forr a ten year old Passat "van conversion" in rag order with no tax or test and a quarter of a million miles on the clock, do you not :pac:

Edit: I suppose I didn't think it was expensive as such, but I thought it was a hard sell.

You left out the part about the dead engine too!

Reminds me of a car show I was at about 2 years ago. A lad there had an S4 and he was telling everyone how it was one of only 50 made. I was a bit surprised as I used to own the exact same model - after a few questions I discovered he meant one of only 50 right hand drive models in that exact spec and colour!

    That whole thing bemuses me.

Add to that comments like the only one in Ireland, the cleanest one in the country, blah blah blah etc etc

My car is one of a kind, it's the only one with that number plate in the country. Super rare!

Holy sheet I thought I would have remembered such a worthy entrant ! Seller message me back saying it will be Nctd on Wednesday , no doubt the price will reach 30k by then lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Offer him 45k if he agrees pay you 50k first.

Pretty sure it's a mistake by the seller, added a 0 by mistake.
Even at nearly 5k it would be expensive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭jelutong

Bank Of Ireland Finance Finance add underneath says "Own this car for €937.00 per month"

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Yeah cause it's basing it on the price inserted, if you stuck 100k in it would give you the calculation of the 100k.
Someone should text the seller and ask if the car really is listed at 47k.

This model in the UK with this spec and mileage is 4 - 5 stg so convert to euro and whatever vrt is your looking at 6 h 7k euro, being a dealer it's price has profit as it's looking well. Not many of this year in this condition in Ireland.I could be wrong.

Very obvious panel gap on the drivers door though.

E36s have doubled in price in a year. It's having a knock on affect on e30s.

Anyone got the ticker symbol for E36 / E30? I want to get in on this action on the NASDAQ, when all the smart ballsy guys are doing it...

Don't really care if they do or don't rocket in value, I wanted an e36 since I was about 9 years old and promised myself I'd get one when I was a grown up and 21 years later I fulfilled that promise. I'm just sorry I couldn't afford an M3.

"Nice simple spec with no air-con to worry about"

    lol

Surely would have come with A/C as standard by then? Also nice faded Alfa badge and awful rubber mats to match.

Given that the E30's have commanded serious money with some time now, in particular 2 door models I would have thought it was the other way around.... the knock on effect of E30 driving up the price of the E36..

I really like this just in account of the fact that's it looks so original and in good order.

Wrong engine though. With BMW you need a 2.5 at minimum.

Alot of work gone in i would imagine, work colour, wrong wheels and wrong interior. Also strong contender for Best Skangermobile thread

The colour is horrible. A Mettalic blue would look much better. The polo dash looks very out of place in a mk3 golf also.
