    Hahaha

Just had a look at the ad, and I remember this car.

We were out of a spin one Sunday a few months ago, and the driver of this car did not like me overtaking him.
The first few times he accelerated each time I put my indicators on to overtake. After a few times of this, I got tired of the game, so just dropped two gears, and accelerated past him.

He did try and keep up, but did not stand a chance. :D

For a couple of grand more you can get an actual M5 which has nearly 2 and a half times the horsepower... http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/M5/M5-542BH/201039199678748/advert?channel=CARS

wheres he getting the 542 bhp? you'd need to put 10000 into that engine to get another 35 bhp with out turbo or super charging it? and it does'nt look half as good in that color.

Am I the only one who likes it, ......Wouldn't buy from a dreamer who can't spell though.

Yeah, I like it too actually, and I'm not usually a BeeEmm fan.

Mind you the text is shockingly bad...........

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Don't get this - so what if it doesn't have tax? You're only liable for tax from the date of change of ownership.

If that Probe was under a grand, it'd be a bit of fun for me to play with, but otherwise ... nope.

I know that, but for 3k I'd be expecting a full years tax on it ... and probably a full tank of petrol too.

I was merely pointing out that there was very little to justify such an asking price ;)

There's a black one on donedeal in Cork that looks in better nick than that. You'd get it for under the grand alright I'd say.

would this qualify as a dreamer? Or would it sell for this price?

Don't understand the fad for boxy starlets and pimped or rat-car jettas myself, but this would probably make something close to that judging by the popularity of these things.

Looks like the graveyard near Ballincollig in Cork

It's a year or so off being a classic. Could be worth €1000 at the most but it looks to be in very good condition. Another plus is that it's 96% standard. That's always a good thing when it comes to getting good money for this kind of car.

Hope the fact that there's a graveyard in the background doesn't have anything to do with the fate of the buyer :D

The paint looks super flat... nice. Obviously had some elbow grease over the years.

I think I would have repainted the rocker cover for the pics... looks like a fit bird with yellow teeth as it is.

Ok, I just HAD to quote that picture again, it's THAT good!
So, no tax, tacky body kit, tacky wheels, in need of several grands worth of a paintjob, after being handbrake turned through every car park in the country by scuzzers for 16 years god knows what horrors await you in the engine, transmission, suspension department, but on the plus side it only has 136 miles on the clock!:D
Could he have missed a few zeros there?
Actually, price now down to E2k! I'll take two!

Admittedly, it does look like a very clean and well looked after car - but €6500 for a 20 year old GTi? Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit dreamer-ish?

Seems looney to me, when I was a very young dude a local lad had a metallic green one and then a blue one (or vice versa), later one was a 1.9 too, I loved them back then. Never considered buying one when I grew up though.

but they seem to have a horrible taste in alloys and cloth seats, if your going to buy an amazon, cream leather and wood trim is essential, looks horrible but definitley not a bad price - also they do fairly well on fuel, the 4.5 diesel isnt half bad
