Christ on a bike - are they for real? Even if it was a straight chassis, with NO rust, 50 bucks should be the most they should even ask for.

That dude needs to try his luck on dragons den :D

This is a dreamer of a different sort. Yeah, the price is very very ambitious (here's a '06 LWB with less mileage and nearly 2k cheaper), but the clincher, and qualifier for dreamer title ... claims
Doing around 42 miles per gallon

    In a 3.2, 2-ton 4x4!

    Full?id=6344982

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2147045

I'm not knocking it because its a 4x4 - I own one, and with a tailwind, downhill, I might manage to get 30mpg for a few hundred meters! 42mpg is pure fantasy!

Actually, now that I think about it some more, €12500 for a private sale SWB Pajero is also definitely dreaming, so forget the bit about the price being ambitious, its definitely dreamer. :D

    The real dreamer is mitsubishi.
    160HP 3.2L 3.2L SWB
    Diesel
    Manual
    36.495,00 €

thats €37,000 for a SWB two seater commercial. Near €20k dearer than a two seater hilux. Fools and their money etc.

That Cossie is worth it IMHO if it is clean and has a full history.

You could ship it to Britain and make a profit

    Afraid not

For anyone who wants a well cared for one with a full service history thats what you're looking at.

The price (I'd never pay it mind you) is right when you take into account transferring sterling to euro plus VRT

I'm not a Ford fan but I always understood that Cossie had a very high value.

As stated I wouldn't pay that much for it but others would

Sorry, but that's just ridiculous. These aren't daily cars for the most part and second cars, be it classic or performance, have dropped by the guts of 40% the last few years. You would want to loose a zero on either of them to come close.

As I said, buy it here and ship it back to the Uk for a tidy profit ;)

I agree, the market for it in Ireland is limited to put it nicely

If you needed the parts you'd consider it.

I understand where you're coming from, I just find it hard to believe anyone here or in the UK would pay anything close to this for a Cossie. Lad I know just recently sold an immaculate Dodge Challenger for €18k, same car would have been worth €40k all day, every day 4 years ago. I just can't see a Cossie being worth anything near that.

it'd be good for harvesting 'stuff', dash and interior and engine bits possibly. chassis looks ****ed.

A good escort cosworth is making that kinda money easily. A friend of mine bought one recently for near 20k.
