But yet you feel the need to bad mouth them? The sticker prices are high yes, but their cost to change is about the same as all the others. And that's from someone that can comment from experience.

Give over. They're robbers. Did you see the prices they are asking for some of their cars? Yeah i stand by what i said i wouldn't go near them to buy a car, not with those prices.

Don't care how much experience you have, ridiculously expensive prices are unacceptable. It doesn't take an expert to see that.

And by the way im not bad mouthing them, im calling it as i see it. Ive bought & sold a few cars in my day & i know when someone is asking silly money for a car. Dealer or not.

All I said was their cost to change was bang on the money and no one ever pays sticker price so how do you know what their bottom price would be if you have never had any experience of them?

I always thought their sticker prices were high but I wouldn't go off calling them robbers unless I had actual figures from them. Especially in this climate.

Im not interested in cost to change. For a cash sale its the last place i would go to buy a car.

And they are going to be the actual selling prices are they? I think not. The sticker prices are in dreamland but in my experience it's the old put it on to take it off routine.

The prices he has advertised are the prices that people are going to see online? How are people supposed to know what the actual prices are?

    Telepathy?

    Why should i?

Because it may be a good quality car and the price could be flexible? If I'm looking at a car I'll price cars out of my range and see what deal I can wrangle. It's worked out a couple of times too. The asking price is just that. For the sake of 20 mins talking it could be worth it.

What they are doing is bad practice. Asking 6k for a 10 year old passat is ludicrous what ever way you cut it. Thats why this thread exists - to highlight the most ridiculous asking prices online. This place has quite a few entries here, what does that say to you?

Im not going to even waste my time haggling over the likes of that passat with such a high asking price, their starting point for negotiation (the 6000 euro asking price) is way beyond the value of the vehicle in the first place. You must be able to see this???

Really, how many more times would you like me to agree that the asking prices are too high? Read my posts instead of taking it so personally. It's a reoccurring point. I just made a point that it may be worthwhile. If the cost to change prices are bang on, and I doubt that they are over pricing stock coming in then surely there is scope to bargain.

Not a dreamer in the sense of value but thought this was funny. Alfa Romeo 156 with broken timing belt 'BUT REDY FOR NCT'. New oil & filter! Pointless when the engine is smashed to pieces in the inside. How can it be ready for the NCT? And the tax expired a year ago lol. This boy is confused! :D

    Looks the pits aswell.

How much scope for a bargain is there involved in a situation where a dealer is asking 6000 euro for a 10 year old passat?

Do think they would agree to drop 3000 euro off the price to make it a bargain?

Dealer has 3 puntos, a fiesta and a 206 for sale + more.
The 03 punto must be an import from the UK if its a 16v. Still not worth 2850 if you ask me.
The other silver one is a HLX 16v but again not worth what he's asking (there's some going for less then 1500 on DoneDeal) and the red one, I won't go there. Bar the HLX the other two are NCT'ed till 2013.

    NCT 01/13 = 19months no?

These days I don't think there are any cars that are so reliable that they're worth 2-3k more than other cars of the same year and condition.

of course im excluding renaults from this as they should be 2-3k cheaper, maybe even free-to-a-good-home
