D3 Tripod Recommendations

Well now that I'm back from NZ with new camera having sold my old D40x over there, Im thinking the tripod I have, a manfrotto 190XProB with 804RC2 tri-pan head might not be upto holding the weight, coupled with the 70-200mm lens or the likes. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a tripod/ball head combo that would ensure the continued lifespan of my camera whilst not firmly clutched in my grips?

Are you refering to the tripod I currently have or Borderfox's recommendation? To be fair I haven't tried it out on the 190XPro yet but I will do this evening and see how it fairs.

Not 100% sure of the number of the head at the moment but will look in the morning and post it the.

The tripod is good up to 12kg and in practice is probably the sturdiest thing I've come across that's not specifically meant for video work.
