but it was unbelievable decision to give the corner in the first place.

would agree - didnt seem a lot wrong with that but it was a shocking decision to give the corner in the first place. Justice done - two wrongs do make a right

Someone should tell the Blackburn defenders to at least try and aim for RSC when hoofing the ball long out of defence , they almost seem to be doing their best to aim away from him.

Possible mistake by Fergie to leave Vidic and Van der Saar on the bench?

Colm O'Rourke just said United were 1-0 up thanks to Rooney?

Not really, Evans needed a game before Tues. Plus it's a good opportunity for Rio and Evans to get into a groove before Tues.

You could argue either way with regards to VDS.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Fergie is willing to risk a result here if it means VDS is fit and well for Tuesday. Vidic is out on Tuesday so he needs to give the stand in a chance to get sharp.

Also it was never a free-kick on Rafael at the corner.

He'd made a great effort to keep the long ball in but as a result was completely off-balance. There was no foul, he was just coming into Nielsen at speed and off balance to try to keep the ball in play and while it looked awkward was never a foul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

leaving vidic out will always be a risk. no matter how good people say ferdinand is, vidic is simply better and a more complete defender imo.

vds you could also argue, considering pig's pretty bad attempt at a save for the goal.

and to whoever said it was a free, ntbell i think, you're grasping at straws a little. you can't get ALL the 50-50 decisions. rooney simply shrugged his shoulders to the assistant a few moments earlier on the ground after he lost control of the ball and got a free.

you win some, you lose some.

Is Ben Foster is injured? Because he's a million miles better than Tk.

he played the man and made no effort to go to the ball

    he wasn;t "sheilding the ball"

he went away from the ball to obstruct the incomming player

    that's a free kick.

Just caught the highlights, what was the Keeper and Rio doing? Shocking bit of Defending.

The disallowed goal was an odd decisio but it wasn't a corner.

Be interesting to see second half.

Bad decision. Foster is the future at United, not Tk imo. Foster deserves to be picked ahead of Tk because he's better!

Definitely right decision to play Evans though. You can't expect a young lad to make start at the San Siro without having recently played 90mins!

We'll have to disagree on this one I'm afraid.

Always hurts when a goal gets disallowed.

On the leaving Vidic and VDS out, my point was it not a mistake to leave both of them out?

Fair enough leaving one or the other out (still a risk) but was leaving both of them out too much of a risk?

Nani has been v hit and miss today. Can't see him lasting the full 90 at this rate..

Kuzczak is a terrible goalkeeper. We have known that for some time. He is a good shot stopper, but thats not enough, he has no command over his area the way Van Der Sar does, while Edwin has hid dodgey moments he gives his back 4 thats sence of confidence. When you turn around and see the Pole In Goal fluffing kicks and the like, its not good. His decision to go to ground for the goal was laughable.

Foster is a good keeper, but even so, why does Edwin need to be rested for ****s sake, 22 saves in 14 games!

I'm sorry, but Nani is just the most frustrating player. He can make brilliant passes, and take on players as well as Ronaldo can. But he is just so, so wasteful the majority of the time. United this season have been based on consistency - composure, building attacks even if it looks like we're not going to score - and he is the most inconsistent player I've seen in a long time.

Van Der Sars attmept at breaking the euro record is still intact, isnt it?

He could just as easily knock in a 25 yarder too though. Is he playing so badly as to take that chance away.

Either or both Giggs and tevez should be on no later than 70mins if the score is still level.

FFS ronnie, cop yerself on, on both counts. Hate that crap..

Not entirely sure, the record would be for "Consecutive Minutes without conceding a goal." and him not playing might be the end of the consecutive.

How in the name of God is Ronaldo still on the pitch???

If any Man Utd fan complains about this Ref they need their head examined, Ronaldo was a great player now he's fast becoming a dirty cheat!

Personally, don't feel you leave an underperforming player on for the offchance that he might score a speculative effort, particularly if there are quality players on the bench..

EDIT: Has losing the clean sheet record shaken some of the players?

Fergie identifies that leaving Vidic out was simply wrong. Get that beast there and we will have no more of this bull****.

Keep this up and Inter will tear us to shreds.

Turning into a cracker of a game now

Fair play to Blackburn - would have been very easyto fold after Utd's goal

What a free kick from Ronnie..., that will knock the stuffing out of Blackburn..

EDIT: didn't feel Evans played badly to take him off.., but he does look to be limping slightly??

Then Ronaldo should be off with him by the sounds of things ;)

If tevez isn't brought on I'll be pissed. He ignites the team and remember the winners he got late on last season!

Good substitutions. Evans is getting the run around, and we need stability in the defence. And Tevez is Tevez :p

Great strike by Ronaldo but Robinson could possibly have done better.

    Agreed.

Howard Webb is not having a good day at the office. Nobody can really deny that Ronaldo should be huffing and puffing in the dressing room right now, but they are not his only bad decisions. Ive never liked him as a ref.

Ronaldo is such a controvertial prat... But jesus i love him to bits!:p

Johnny Evans didnt impress me at all today. Disallowed goal and that was it. Very worried with him playing against Inter.
