Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well i'm currently thinking of what to do,I'm in my last year of school and planning to head to college.(not doing a course in photography)Before and while i'm there i'd like to build up a portfolio of shots of mostly sports in view to getting work with a local paper while i'm in college,Now i know it's not going to be easy but i have some work already done with papers etc

Anyway down to business,I have been looking at my images from my 90-300 for quite a while and i'm spotting imperfections in the images mainly they're not sharp enough,I really like this lens and it has done a great job but i feel i'm out growing it and would like to move on,
I've been looking at the canon 70-200 f/4 or the canon 80-200 f/2.8 both going for simular prices in a few magazines i've looked at and don't really know which would be better,I've decided the 70-200 f/2.8 is out of the list because there's no way in hell i'll save up for that before or during college.

So really which would you recommend,it's coming up to my 18th so i should be able to persuade someone to part fund one of the above but which one?

    Thanks all

70-200 f/4 is actually sharper than 2.8 version, a good lens overall for it's price.
    Go for it.

Have you not thought about the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 at all? Half the price of the canon equivalent and sharp as a knife. Or at least my one is ;)

Yeah i have considered it,But as i'll possibly be buying used chances are they are only selling on the lens as it's not a very sharp model,
I've found with sigmas that their sharpness can vary greatly.I have seen the images from yours and it's made me re-think the whole thing and get one of those but the risk of getting an unsharp model is too much of a risk for me!
