Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does a program change the registry?

    Hi,
When removing a program in windows, we all know know you have to go to add / remove control panel first as this cleans up the registry.

However, some programs don't change the registry and can be deleted directly from the file system just as if they were normal files.

My question is there anyway in windows to check if a program install has changed your registry and must be removed using the add / remove control panel.

You could try searching the registry for the name of the program and the company that created it.

not really unless you monitor the changes when it installs

if you ever used ccleaner you'd see just how much crap is left behind after supposedly "clean" uninstalls

files get copied to system folders / common file folders
    shortcuts get made
other settings files are left behind too

windows installer clean up tries to remove some of this crud, sometimes
