I’ve put this off for long enough but I can’t take it anymore :(

About 5 months ago I was trying to get NAT 1 for my PS3 is in my bedroom, wirelessly. So I followed this post and got NAT 1
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=55535677&postcount=25

Everything seemed to be fine. But after a while I realised that the router would randomly disconnect (internet light would go red). It could go a few days without it happening and then suddenly it would spring up again. In the last couple of months its happening a lot more often, and would disconnect several times a day. It seems to happen mostly in the evening after 6pm. I don’t know much about routers but I have a feeling its something to do with PPOE. But in all honesty I haven’t got a clue what PPOE is or does:o

I literally can’t remember the router once disconnecting in the nine months or so before I changed the router settings and set pppoe.

Usually what happens is I’m just browsing the internet and suddenly the internet light will go from green to red. I’ll be asked for my router username and password
    password.jpg

I’ll type it and then it will go to the router page and I’ll get this: autosensingpppoe.jpg

Usually when I switch off the router and put it back on again and enter my password and then open one of my favourites (like bbc or youtube) the connection will come back quickly. Other times the red light can flash for a second but it will go green again.

The phone has dsl filters and I’ve changed the dsl cable, and it hasn’t made a difference. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Have you tried resetting the router to the factory default settings?

Ok, tbh I'm not great on this but your connection should be set to PPPoE. The only reason I suggest you reset to factory defaults is to eliminate anything you may have done to disrupt the connection. I think someone else will be more useful to you.

Take a look here. Tells you how to check your connection.
