I'll defo keep a weather eye on the Dublin convention, I didn't go to the '08 con due to the lacklustre lineup of artists, so fingers crossed the talent will be of a more international flavour and I'll get to support the Dublin tattoo con.

Anyone know whether the midelton show is over 18's or not?

Are those dates for the dublin one confirmed?
I couldn't find it on the myspace or bodyshock web, only highlights of the last con

never has been in previous years, obviously to get tattooed you'd have to be 18, but entry has never been restricted for people younger then that.

I'm heading over for the Manchester convention in two weeks, can't wait. Didn't think the last Dublin Con was up to much really, I had a great laugh, but as Conventions go it's on of the worst I've been too. I'll defo be headin to the Cork one this year too.

How come you found the 2008 con disappointing compared to other conventions? Was it anything in particular?
I'm off to the Frankfurt convention in late March to get a leg piece finished and money willing I'll go over to London too as that was killer last year.

Well I haven't been to many in ireland, just that one and the last one in Leopardstown. I just found it a bit cramped, not a great layout and not a great international artist turn out.

is it no tattoos under 18 or if you have parental consent is it ok cos im like goin to get tattoos lol

Parental consent will not be taken into account by any reputable tattoo artist.

If you're under 18, then simply wait. I know that sounds patronising, but it is not intended to be. This is something that will most likely be on your body for the rest of your life, so what's the rush?

Considering you cant even punctuate a sentence I cant see how you even think you`re mature enough to make a decision on a tattoo.

Any reputable artist will not tattoo you under 18.

lol... i had mine done at 16 and still love them but do agree with the others, 18 might seem like eons away but honestly you'll be old and decrepit like the rest of us all too soon and wondering what the rush was.

does anyone know which artists will be at the cork con? and if there's an artist i want something done by whats the procedure for arranging it... do i contact the artist personally?

complete novice at this stuff... my other tats were 'walk in and ask' jobs and the last cork con i went to (far too long ago) i only got a piercing done which obviously needs no prep from the person doing it

feel free to laugh at my ignorance ;)
