Nah, not realy and acually in my experience many non-Dubs know the city better simply because they have to learn the areas and do move around a lot, maybe every college year as an example.

    From the charter:
    * "Northside v southside", "working class areas v middle class" areas, "best area", "worst area" type threads will no longer be permitted. They are totally pointless and not worth the hassle they cause.
I gotta agree, some of the very worst threads on boards
Similarly, threads enquiring about prospective areas to purchase/rent property cannot be permitted, except in special circumstances.

    Can we lift this?
Suppose it's your first graduate job or going to college and you need info.
Where to live with, where's overpriced, where has good bus service, parks, pubs and whatever else.

People need this info and no better people to ask then the good folkes here :)

Plus people could get up to date advice. Maybe a bus service got cut or maybe there is some big development going. Hard to get this info sometimes.

It goes without saying that muppet comments, like x area is full of scum, y area is wasters and so one can't be tolerated

Good info without the generalizations! :)
Hey when I moved to Belfast I asked all these questions in the relevant forum on boards and got loadsa help. Can I return the favour?

I'm absolutely prepared to open up discussion on the various issues surrounding living in and socialising in area's of Dublin.

I think it could be a very important feature of the DCF (Dublin City Forum).

But I'd issue a VERY stern & clear warning re. personal abuse. Bannings for personal abuse, no matter how vailed would be swift and final & I wouldn't be party to discussing them in a feedback thread as the rules would be posted IN CLEAR and pleading ignorance would be no defence.
