Anyone know how much it would cost to fix a dodgy button on a camera?

I have a Canon EOS 350D. The button on it has been dodgy for awhile now. Basically half the time it takes a photo and half the time it doesn't. It always focuses but sometimes its just temperamental and refuses to take a shot. This definetly has nothing to do with any settings. I went into a camera store and was told to even send it away and have it looked at would cost money. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how much did it cost you? What are my best options?

I've seen this on youtube before never even watched it but the 30D and i know they're different but hopefully the video will show you how many parts you need(if any) and how long it takes,Contact canon directly as i'm sure they'd be able to give you a lenght of time

Edit nevermind,I thought the video would just show him cleaning off the button,but that goes much deeper...
