Listening to the radio on Friday, Joe Duffy had a lady caller on the line.

She said she wanted to see heads roll, or something to that effect, for mistakes and corruption in the banks.

Joe retorted that if there were, say, 800 bankers put out on the street, would this solve anything? "Is this just spiteful?" He actually said this!

Just because he earns 380K per annum. Maybe he has friends in the banks and other golden circles.

According to Joe, looking for justice and administering due punishment is just plain oul' Spite!

    I won't 'Talk to Joe'.

    Feckin ejit.

Well, he has a point. Let's make 800 bank staff unemployed and add to the doom and gloom. Can't see any logic in that tbh.

To be fair, Joe always takes the humanitarian side.
To be honest, I'd say hes under strict orders from the RTE to be careful about what he says.
Joe has a lot of influence with some of the people who are gonna be the most hard hit.

If he said the wrong thing (right thing depending on your point of view) on air, it could lead to 'a swelling in public emotion'.

Besides, hes gonna make a buck and a half with all the horror stories that will be turning up over the next few years with all this in in the pipeline.
I'm feeling sick just thinking about it.

Joe is one of the biggest plonkers on radio. He takes a line on a topic to suit his ends each day. One day he blows hot, cold the next. The guy doesn't seem to have an honest opinion of his own at all. He just panders to the argument at hand. And he just goes on and on with calls saying basically the same as the previous 6 callers.
I gave up listening to him a couple of months ago and I've a much brighter view of life now.

Cutting across the person online to state the obious is something he tends to do a lot ,wasting prescious caller time .
