I've just noticed I can see from my balcony a massive satellite dish about the height of a house in someones back garden down near Ballyloughaun beach.

Any browsers of this forum happen to own this mammoth thing? And what kind porn satellite channels can you pick up with it?

Don't have a decent camera up with me.

It's amazing how they make them so big and still maintain a near perfect parabolic shape.

Any excuse to say that word?

Well the fundamental reason a satellite dish works is because it's a parabolic shape.

I thought they were 2 of them. They belong to NTL. If you go down to Ballyloughanne and take a walk to the left up behind the Caravan Pk you can see them clearly.

I'm pretty sure you're right. It's been there a number of years now and in the beginning, at least, it was used for recieving the saterlite programs for rebroadcast on multichannel as everyone called it then. Weather or not that is still the case i'm not sure. I believe they have a dish out at Tonnabrookie, and use the mast out there for their MMDS broadcasts. Someone else maybe more informed on the topic.
