Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Post Processing Challenge One : Nutty!

    Okay folks,

    here is the image i have choosen for our first challenge. A far cry from what people may have been expecting, but that is the joy of it!

    Just follow the link to find the image. Download away, all the Commons are fine for download and derivatives.

    Hopefully people enjoy this.

    I reckon we will give it the standard two weeks?

    Not that i am aware of. You should just be able to go the site and download it regardless, i think.

    Pretty sure if you go to www.bighugelabs.com you can do it all online!! They have an option called the Warholizer that does pretty much the above!

    The large version on Pix.ie is as big as it gets I'm afraid.

    For the processing I googled "warhol photoshop" and found a few links
    roughly it was:
    delete the background
    Filter ->artistic ->cutout
    Levels (used to reduce the different shades)
    then copy paste and colour in

    PP done:

    Import to LR 2.2
    • Preset: Matt's Lomo Effect (Will upload if requested)
    • Change Exposure -1.10 (final: -0.96)
    • Change Brightness -4 (final: 72)
    • Change Highlight tones -53 (final: -4)
    • Change Light tones -15 (final: -15)
    • Change Saturation -5 (final: -75)
    • Green Saturation shift -42 (final: -42)
    • Red Saturation shift +46 (final: +46)
    • Yellow Saturation shift -56 (final: -56)
    • Blue Saturation shift -100 (final: -100)
    Export as .tif and open in PS CS4
    • Add B&W adjustment layer
    • Set values:
    Reds: -1
    Yellows: 112
    Greens: 91
    Cyans: 91
    Blues: -12
    Magentas: 54
    • Set layer blend mode to 'Lighten'
    • Add Levels adjustment layer
    • Set to auto
    • Duplicate Background layer
    • Apply High Pass filter (7 Pixel radius)
    • Set layer blending mode to Soft Light
    Export as JPEG (Quality 12)

    layer 1 - gausiann blue, with reflective gradient around the eye and lollypop
    Layer 2 - Introduced sharpness using smart sharpen
    Layer 3 - B&W layer with blending mode to Overlay and opacity 70%
    Layer 4 - Curves layer - using PS3 preset crossprocessing layer - opacity 70%
