Things to be grateful for...

This could well be my first AH thread.

In recent weeks I've noticed a level of negativity on boards that I've never ever seen here. People seem to be very down and I see alot of anxiety and panic everywhere* (look at the type of forum requests as an example).

So I'm going to try and instill some positivity**.

Anytime I am anxious or worried about what the week will bring (and I mean big stuff like will someone die, will I get sued, my job security and injuries) I try and calm myself with a good bottle of wine and some times to reflect on the positive and good things in life. That is... well at least I have this to be grateful for.

So how about this as a thread to focus on the small or big things in life that make a positive difference in your day.

    So mine:
    1. The aforementioned good wine.
    2. Supportive family.
    3. Being able to see the turning point ahead.
    4. New friends that turn up and make life more interesting.
    5. Random compliments from strangers.
    6. Egyptian cotton sheets after a long day.
    7. Sushi.
    8. Remembering the last silver lining.
    9. Setting a goal and reaching it.
    10.That Amelie moment with a spoon :)

    * I will admit, in many cases, with good reason

** I am, however, a cynic and am posting this in a small part as a bet to myself that people can actually focus on the good things rather than just use it to be mean or take their frustrations out on others....

I've been battling with a relapse of a long term chronic illness (Crohn's) for almost 12 months, and it looks like it's finally under control, MUCH to my relief. Been a very scary and stressful year, and if I'm being honest I have not been concerned at all about the recession up until the last couple of weeks, as I couldv'e been going under the knife for bowel removal, and lookin at having a "bag" for the rest of my life (I'm 25).

Fingers crossed anyway - That's what keeps me upbeat!!!

Oh, and pron. fap fap fap etc.

"Sure, we may take a little longer to brew a cup, and we may not call it fancy names, but I guess we just care a little more... And that's why Tweek Coffee is still home-brewed from the finest beans we can muster. Yes, Tweek Coffee is a simpler cup, for a simpler America."

    • The "ahhh ha!" of discovering something new at university
    • Hearing barks from my pet Fox
    • Catching a wave at The Wedge without wiping out
    • Dancing to Jamaican drums
    • Listening to grand guitar music about a beach fire
    • French kissing and whispering sweet nothings with someone special
    • Holding hands and walking the beach at sunset
    • Skinny dipping on dark Newport Beach Harbour nights
    • The feel and sound of form fitting leathers during winter
    • Drinking too much and screaming at USC football games
    • Blasting off from the airport to someplace new
    • Going for a dip in Hidden Lake after hiking Mt San Jacinto
    • Shopping Black Friday at Southcoast Plaza
    • Catching a lad by surprise with a quick reverse spin kick

One of these too, actually. Next week, how did I forget!

Having a job, might not 4 long, but a lot don't. Being able to earn money playing poker online if it does all go Pete is nice.

My girly, probably wouldn't be around/in a job without her, as morbid as that sounds.

    Supporting Liverpool. (Not!)

This thread right here in AH. Thank you, GuanYin, for bringing a ray of light into what has recently become quite a depressing place.

Also, if someone starts a negativity thread in response to this, I will hunt them down and give out to them.
