Not sure. is the honest answer.

There might be legal stuff blocking them (ironic) from doing that.
Seeing as BT lease the lines and I presume Eircom haven't bothered to included in the leasing contracts the rights to automatically block sites on BT lines, I'd say not.
Besides BT would be pissed and rightly so. It would mean Eircom could in theory block any site they consider not in their favour to have up and running.
No, I'm not talking or hinting towards Eircom taking out the opposition sites but it could be the start of the thin end of a wedge!

Taking it elsewhere - back to topic...

Glad I'm over 18 - I'd hate to be a teen again going through another recession!
The first time was hell, truly hell.

This could well be my first AH thread.

In recent weeks I've noticed a level of negativity on boards that I've never ever seen here. People seem to be very down and I see alot of anxiety and panic everywhere* (look at the type of forum requests as an example).

So I'm going to try and instill some positivity**.

Anytime I am anxious or worried about what the week will bring (and I mean big stuff like will someone die, will I get sued, my job security and injuries) I try and calm myself with a good bottle of wine and some times to reflect on the positive and good things in life. That is... well at least I have this to be grateful for.

So how about this as a thread to focus on the small or big things in life that make a positive difference in your day.

    So mine:
    1. The aforementioned good wine.
    2. Supportive family.
    3. Being able to see the turning point ahead.
    4. New friends that turn up and make life more interesting.
    5. Random compliments from strangers.
    6. Egyptian cotton sheets after a long day.
    7. Sushi.
    8. Remembering the last silver lining.
    9. Setting a goal and reaching it.
    10.That Amelie moment with a spoon :)

    * I will admit, in many cases, with good reason

** I am, however, a cynic and am posting this in a small part as a bet to myself that people can actually focus on the good things rather than just use it to be mean or take their frustrations out on others....

    Health, health and health.

Someone close to me is terminally ill. Nothing matters a bollix if you're not healthy enough to appreciate it. Or worse still, not alive...

It's the one thing that practically everyone takes for granted and yet it's one of the most important and precious things you'll ever possess.
