I don't even think Hearn would want him in ODC after his sour gob antics during the grand slam

I agree, and I don't think it'd work out with him in the PDC either, not that he's not a good player, it's just that time he went bananas at the grand slam won't sit well with the fans, the fans don't forget. And because of that they'll be even more on his case and that'll drive him bonkers even more, and to be honest i don't think he'd have enough in him to make the kind of impact he'd like, he has the wrong attitude, and also the PDC has enough characters without a poor mans dracula prancing around the winter gardens and ally pally...!

1 of the biggest opens in the BDO calendar the Isle Of Man Open was held this weekend with the mens singles been won by Davey Prins who beat Joey Ten Berge 3 sets to 0 in the final and took home £5000 for winning the tournament. Again no coverage of this on the BDO website all weekend, the BDO are doing nothing in relation to promoting the sport,a joke organisation!

The Mariflex open was held this weekend in Holland with all the top ranked BDO players taking part with the exception of Ted Hankey who has yet to play a tournament this year since the World Championship. The final was held this evening with Scotland's John Henderson defeating England's Steve West 3 sets to 2 after been 2-0 down. West is the current World number 2 in the BDO rankings even though Ireland's Martin McCloskey beat him in the World Championship.

Great to be able to see so many comps.

As regards the live darts online i got an e-mail Friday from Worlddartstv which i joined up when it first started saying they will be showing next weekend's British Internationals online free of charge. I'm sure 110sport.tv have a small charge for watching the darts events. Still it's all good news that there's more live darts available to us darts fans.

The Antwerp Open was held over the Easter weekend with England's Stuart Kellet beating Gino Vos from The Netherlands 3 sets to 2 in the final. This is Stuart's 2nd BDO ranked tournament victory this year already as he also won the Scottish Open. Ted Hankey made his 1st appearance this season in a BDO tournament in Antwerp but he got knocked out in the last 64.

    WDTV statement;

    Exciting times

It is with great pleasure we can announce some live events.
As some of you may already know 110sport.tv have reached an agreement to show a number of live events with the BDO, WDO, WDF, and the Anatolians Group in conjunction with the Turkish Darts Federation . The first being the British Internationals in Bridlington.
110sport and WDTV have reached an agreement whereby you will be able to watch these events live on our website. More good news is that the first event, at least, will be totally free to watch and we are hoping it is successful enough for the remaining events to follow the same route.
Some thing else you may have noticed, or not, is that your normal link has been redirected to www.worlddartstv2.com this is because we are in the process of totally rebuilding the website and to prevent further confusion during this time it will not be necessary to log into the website. Please keep calling back to see further details of the British Internationals

I was watching the British Internationals online today. I thought it was very well done with a great picture and good commentary, the whole thing looked very professional. There was 1 mens team game today with Scotland beating Wales 7-5 and a Harry Todman won the game for the Scots beating Lakeside World semi finalist Martin Phillips 3 legs to 0 in the final game of the day. England beat Wales 4-2 in the Womens group.

The German Open was held last weekend with England's Dean Winstanley beating Belguim's Ronny Huybrechts 3 sets to 2 in the final. A lot of the top BDO players were missing due to no flights from the volcanic ash situation.

Fair enough. Any reason why he didn't show up? He's a BDO diehard, surprised he didn't play in this event especially after him winning the high profile Granite City Open event the week before.

It seems strange Ross would miss such a high profile event on the BDO calendar,he's always praising the BDO at every opportunity he gets! I just presumed he got beat in the 1st round when I see his opponent's name in the 2nd round list! As your on about Inverness the Portland Open was on there at the weekend which Simon Whitlock won,was Ross playing in that tournament:eek:

I hadn't posted on this thread for quite a while because let's be honest most darts fans on here favour the PDC more than the BDO and that's understandable considering the lack of media coverage and information we get on BDO tournaments!

I opened a thread around xmas time on Lakeside and lo and behold a lot of posters came on defending the Lakeside World Championship some going as far as saying it was better than the PDC! I decided to post on here about the Dutch open to see if these same fans would be interested in what's called the biggest open in the BDO calendar. And as you can see not 1 of these BDO supporters posted on the thread! Again it was just a case of people posting to stir up a debate on the Lakeside thread, not BDO fans after all!

I am a big bdo fan and had posted on the forum before but as normal it was always the say reply that the pdc is better.. and got fed up with it. I here to talk darts not to disagree for the sake of it. Also replied once about buying a dart board for a novice and got some smart ass reply form someone.

I have been following the dutch open on a different forum.

If you look back at this thread the past 12 months I've posted results of BDO tournaments with very few responses and it was over 4 months ago when I posted last before my recent posts on the Dutch Open because I said there was little or no interest in BDO darts on this forum. Never once was their a derogatory post made against me about the BDO in this thread.

I opened a thread on this year's Lakeside and was surprised to see a good interest in Lakeside from posters and I said to myself there might be hope for the BDO thread yet but at the same time cautious that these posters were only on trying to create a PDC v BDO battle and sadly it seems that's all they posted on the Lakeside thread for.

This thread is here for darts fans to discuss BDO news and it would be great to get fans on here regular discussing about the BDO,not once a year to have a raging PDC v BDO debate! I'll keep posting results and news on here for all darts fans to keep then informed on the BDO scene, not to create a us versus them battle!

without doubt mate, but alot of times its hard for people to tell when they are just discussing results and who got knocked out in what round without actually seeing the games and how people are playing.

The PDC floor tournies thread is almost as quiet with the odd discussion on the irish players and saying well done to whoever, but imho its only more active cause they review the semi's and final and people who check the pdc results page can get an idea of how the semi finalists are playing.

With regards the dutch open after saying "well done martin adams and unlucky dean winstanley" theres not a huge amount one can say really, no averages charts, no write up.

As regards the Dutch Open the link that I supplied for results was a joke of a set up! I eventually got results off a Dutch twitter page!

I like the majority of players in the BDO but for the organisation itself it's in serious need of an overhaul. The likes of Croft,Holmes and Fitzmaurice need to retire and let some young blood in to try and rejuvenate this once great organisation.

without doubt. Theirs some great players still in the BDO but its hard to get a feel for them when all you see is there name and their scores so to speak. Plus you get no idea of what the standard is like. Dean Winstanley for example is a quite likeable fella whose also a good player but going in to Lakeside, I'd only seen him at the masters. Didn't what type of player etc.... , to what standard he could throw same with Kellett despite them being 2nd and 3rd in the world. And imho thats the problem. For example I always thought, I wonder if they are good players or are they just another Steve West (someone who plays in every event, does ok but finishes well up the rankings cause of the sheer number of events and a few nice draws despite being at best a decent player).

The Dutch open is run by the Dutch Darts body, but their coverage this year was below the par of past years.

But I think that the BDO is making the change and moving witht the times, the rebranding has worked and their first big launch is the darts for all, again its their work to get people playing the game and not focusing on a handful of players and line their pockets.

But the issue of the SS of Darts been scraped is not good, even tough it was been run by the IDPa.

The Scottish Open takes place this weekend and the draw has been made for the mens singles with 64 groups in the draw.

Good to see 2 Irish players taking part with Winmau World Masters semi finalist Martin McCloskey taking his place in group 4 with a bye to the 2nd round where he plays Dave Calvert and Sean Wilson also getting a bye to the 2nd round in group 46 where he plays Ian Hemphill.

In the mens singles today groups 1 to 32 were played off earlier and good news regarding Martin McCloskey who won his board on group 4 and is now into the last 64. Also good to see ex PDC star Jamie Harvey qualifying from group 18. Groups 33 to 64 are currently in progress. The mens and ladies singles final were played earlier this evening. Lorraine Farlam beat Irina Armstrong 4-3 in the ladies final. In the mens final Robbie Green beat fellow Englishman Clive Barden 5-4. Mens final averages; Green 85.68,Barden 87.72.

Once again the coverage of the tournament was a joke. I only found out the results from a UK forum! The links to today's last 32 show that play has yet to start! The argument will go on about that it's not the BDO's fault and that the Scottish darts association are running the tournament and they should update scores and results but this argument is getting long in the tooth! Surely the BDO can organise it that there's a scores and results service for every BDO Open?

The 6 nations event takes place next weekend, best of luck to the Irish team and to forum member Mick Egan who's competing in the event.
