Where to put 15k?

    Hey guys,
    I hope to be going back to college in sept and need to scrape as much together as i can.
    I've about 15k in my aib account, and i just keep picking at it. If i only had like 500 odd id mind it much more.
    So where can i put it to get decent return, have it accessible at very short notice, be able to see it online and not potentially lose it all?

    I already have 10k with rabo and their limit is 10k before you lose all the interest so anywhere else?

    When you say your "aib account" are you referring to a current account? If so, then simply sign up for their deposit account. I use the Online 7-day Notice. You can transfer money into it whenever you want via internet banking, but have to give 7 days notice to withdraw (thus preventing impulse spending, but at the same time, only having to wait a short time to get to it when you actually need it).

    Most of the main banks have similar offerings, but am not familiar with their internet banking (for me, I love having both Current Accounts, Credit Card, Savings, Deposit and Mortgage accounts all under the 1 website).

    As you may need it come September, I would recommend avoiding any account that either forces you to lock it away, or where the advertised interest rate is only applicable if you leave it there, for a specific period of time.

    What makes you say that? The 10k on the saver home page is just an example investment.

    Oh right, that has changed so since i looked at it last...

    Investec are offering 5.58% fixed 6 month term deposit.
    I wonder will i go with them?
