Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Picked up six bottles of this new beer this evening; loving it so far. It has the same soft subtle sweetness of it's Lager brother but that little bit of bite that an ale needs. Anybody else picked her up yet?

Bought it but not tried it yet.

There was no best before date on the bottle, and when I asked in DrinkStore he checked the box and there was no date on that. He assured me it was fresh in, but if it tastes stale I'll know what's happened.

You know but I didn't see a BBD on it either; in fairness yer man in Drink Store would warn you nicely if it was an issue. I drank from the bottle and it seemed grand to me early on.

Only had 4 bottles of it so it will take a bit of time to get used to it; it went down well and it's soft; an IPA it isn't so don't expect a heavy and mature brew. But definitely worth trying IMO.

Oh yeah, absolutely. They're a nice bunch in there.

Yeh your right. I picked up a couple of these tonight with a couple of Brew Dog Cult Lagers. After a Cult Lager the Moosehead seems rather disappointing. A fairly average tasting beer and nothing like an IPA at all. Goes down easy enough though.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty damn poor. I did learn how to read the date on it though.

I did not like this stuff at all. Picked up a 6 pack, just as bland as the lager. Which isn't a ringing endorsement of the stuff!

Yeh after the first I was barely able to finish the 2nd. Weird sickly sweet after taste off it. Now I know why they were on special offer!!!

Going from Brew Dogs, even breast milk would be a let down:D

Beernut, I found your comments on Genny Cream interesting. Amazing how a beer trys to get cachet by being "imported". Genny has always been a workingman's cheap after work beer! I used to by it for <$2 a sixpack, cheapest thing in the store, unless you count Utica Club Cream Ale, and you really shouldn't it was even less like beer.

It certainly is. You'll also find lots of American beer writers covering Guinness, Smithwick's, Boddington's and Newkie Brown as though they were the epitome of quality beer in their respective countries of origin.

Yeh its a killer how expensive the decent american beers are over here. I seen Sierra Nevada for 3.75 a bottle in Portmarnock yesterday. Thats almost $5 dollars a bottle.

Holy crap! Sierra Nevada is $6.50-7.50 a six pack here! The IPA is quite nice!

What ever about their Pale Ale, i do love Moosehead's normal pilsner, its skunkiness is beautiful. I could drink it all day and night.
