Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow it looks just like the one on the random photo thread! :P
I've had in separate times 3 of those 4 colours....although my eyes stayed the same colour.

Can't see what you would gain with vignetting.

yes well i relaised it looked a bit bland so i wanted some input.

i think the line where the frame changes is a bit distracting, some heavy viggetting might 'blend them into each other better?

TBH that is a different field altogther to what I have not dabbled in yet.

Although I think I get ya now, throw it up and lets compare to the 1st one you upped.

Hmnnnn..... Not exactly my cup of tea, but I would say perhaps go for a square formation as an original take on the whole warhol thing (which i've yet to get either :) ). Technically it looks very good and the photographic element looks sweet too. I'd imagine the original portrait is great so i'm kinda wondering why the desire to process so. Perhaps a blurring of the line between each of the images(?).

Vignetting is not the way to go IMO, the lightening setup I don't like, too many shadows going on across the face, does nothing for the model, some fill flash would work wonders here. If you lighten the background over the models left shoulder, it would be alot easier to blend the pics together.

How much of this is photoshop and how much is lighting?

Also, is the model's name Jana?

    Nope, that ain't a Jana!

I wouldn't go for vignetting - Tbh, a white or silver reflector would have made a huge difference to those shadows, as it is, they're taking quite a bit about it.

If you feel it's bland, though, I wouldn't be using vignetting to spruce it up, I'd reshoot it - And not worry about vignetting at all :)

I have no idea what the aim is here but for a slightly more interesting image i would do a bit of slice and dice. Pile them up in layers, then work in a different quarter from each one, alternating the colours from image to image.

So, first one would be red first quarter, green second quarter, purple third, blue forth. Then green, purple, blue red. 3rd one would be purple, blue, red, green and finally blue, red, green, purple. I think.

You get four different images, but the grid travels across to give tie in and masking should make the whole thing look quite good. The only thing that might go against this idea would be the bleed of the colour into the background but a quick bit of desaturation would solve that.

As i said though, no idea with the drive behind it, just hinging on the "4 colours in her hair" thing.

    No it's not Jana.

It is all photoshop, was originally a dark photo with lit face by honeycomb, got an assignment to manipulate a image in 12 ways so I was just messed about with it since the girl FAUVE just dyed her hair. Was gonna do 12 or so shots with each image a step up in colour wheel, eyes too, going in opposite direction. I kinda agree with the shadow issue, it was one of many light set ups so I shall look for some thing a bit brighter, and dragen, I may give that a stab on the side, sounds cool.

ah ha - i was wondering how you'd do it without photoshop. i think it looks pretty good the way it is, dunno if I'd go messing with vignettes or anything.

i was out with a girl called Jana last night who said she knew you and Al, looked kinda similar

Nope - due to popular demand, new moderation in operation allows for a little off topic (but Not PERSISTANT OFF TOPICNESS).

    :D

Ps - if I post again off topic in this thread i'll probably get my ass kicked.

I prefer this one to the previous one man, it justs looks "better", if you get me? Nice flow in the colours as well.

    Haha he said Jana.

I likes the newer one, though I must say it looks like an ad for Exposure 2 or something. But not in a bad way.

True that, anyway didn't go down well assignmentwise, neither is good enough, each seperate image has to be altered using a different technique :-(
