optical audio output compatability

    hi folks thinking of picking up a new home cinema system and i want to utilise the optical AUDIO output on the back of my TV. only problem is the optical input on the back of the cinema system im thinking of picking up is an optical DIGITAL input. are these two connections compatible? thanks for any help, really havent a clue.

    If they're both optical connectors then they are compatible.
