Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well I'm going through some images and just need some opinions i want to print a few possibly to frame etc and wondering which are better

Firstly this(not the image just the only one with ok-ish colours but they are from the same event)
    2353610897_68c6b883eb.jpg?v=1229460242
Would it be better in colour or black and white?(Lightroom edit)

    And this?

    Or this?

Also open to different editing suggestions,Cheers

Love the third but lose the vignette as it darkens it too much, first one you are losing some of his foot, me personally that would be enough to bin it or crop tighter

    Thanks for that,

As i said first image isn't the actual image I'm going to use but just one from the same set with the correct colours and a bit of noise reduction

I prefer the colours of the second to be honest. Very good panning btw!

I prefer the first bike image. The colours would look better printed than the second one I would imagine. They're both pretty good though so wouldn't complain with either if I was given them.

i like the second bike one but agree to have less vignette in it.

I really like number 3 - the desaturation works well.

Vignetting is probably a little much - but you can trim that back.

Superb panning - hard to get right but you've captured this perfectly.

Meh! - not liking number 1 at all.

No sadly I'm too late for that :(

I like the first bike shot too. The highlights in the second bike shot look a bit too bright. 1+ for dropping the vignette. As Keith said, bin the first one or crop in tighter, maybe portrait mode.

Same here really, I prefer the 1st bike, the second one has a bit too much going on for me... +1 Meh for the rugby one, but then again I don't like rugby in general :p!

    i like the bike ones

agree with keith about the vinegtting on the last bike one

the other shot you are loosing to much of the guy on the right i think

the bike ones would look good black mounted rather than framed too

I've already said,i'm asking if rugby shots in general would look better in B&W or colours and also said take no notice of the rugby shot i posted (technically) as it's only the colour you have to look at...
    Thanks though

    Stcstc and snarah
I've run out of "thanks" but thanks :)

hehe, not a bother... For the rugby ones I would say colour... I think somehow they stand out more with bright colours reflecting the "harshness" of the sport...

    Hmm...tough one dude.

I like the orange in 2, but the desaturation of 3 of the rider... damnit! :D Defo lose some of the vignette though.

As for the rugby...hard one to call. There's so many ways you can B&W a shot.. really needs to be compared. Personally I'd say, I haven't seen any stunning B&W rugby shots thus far, so I'd prefer colour, however one stunning one could come along and change that view quite quickly...

Really like #3 ricky. Ok, the vignetting is a little heavy but love the processing on it / desaturation of the colours. Well done.

I'm no sports photographer but I wonder is #1 better with or without the furthest right player - perhaps it would remove to much of the context of the shot that you have. Anyway others will be far better able to advise on that.
