All the above sites are very good. How ever as you are new to bass, I'd advise learning good technique from a teacher before bad habits develop. There are also lots of lessons about this on You Tube. Then you have a good foundation to build on.

If you get a good teacher you won't feel cheated. The difficulty, unfortunately, is finding a good one.

I assume you mean "ripped off"

Anyway, until you find a good teacher, there's lots of info here on technique (and everything else to do with bass for that matter).

Part of the process of finding a good teacher is finding one that will listen to you. No decent teacher will tell you your crap. Everyone has to start somewhere. I'm sure they werern't born with the ability to play, they had to learn too. If you want something written down, ask for it!

    + 100.

While you may need a teacher to correct you, and constructive criticism is always a good thing, any good teacher would never say you were crap. I can recommend a good teacher in the Lucan area of Dublin. P.M. me if you want details.

Then keep an eye on www.gumtree.ie (do a search for bass teacher/lessons ). You'll find a good teacher in time.

Best of luck with it. :)
