Hiya, I'm going to be visiting some friends in Cork fairly soon. They're fairly new there and haven't sorted out things to do really - mostly when they came to visit me they claimed there was _nothing_ to do. I find that hard to believe.

The following are things I like to do. (Oh I'm from California, USA - so if some of these sound far fetched or odd - sorry :()
    1. Gun range
    2. Archery
    3. Rock climbing (Indoor or outdoor)
    4. Hiking
    5. Video games
    6. Horse back riding
    7. Clubbing/dancing - Goth type preferred but all suggestions welcomed
    8. Salsa/swing Dancing
    9. Bowling
    10. Sushi, Pho, and various other dining experiences
    11. Karaoke
    12. Zoos
    13. Aquariums
    14. Sailing
    15. Sky Diving
    16. Biking - Dirt bike/Regular Cycling
    17. Pool (We're terrible but it's still fun)
    18. Mini golf
    19. Swimming
    20. Photography

I'm also open for suggestions of all kinds - even things that aren't listed above - would be awesome. Those are just the things off the top of my head - I'm pretty easy going and like to do almost everything really.

I would say my top things are
    1. Rock Climbing (Indoor or outdoor)
    2. Horse back riding
    3. Clubbing - with a preference for Goth (Here is a link to some in my area for an idea what I'm thinking http://www.klubs.com/frameset.html)
    4. Salsa
    5. Archery

If there are specific places - that would be really cool especially if I can poke around at them online from a distance.

Thanks a ton for any suggestions you might have! :o:D

    Maybe you could try geocaching.

I think there are a few locations around Cork for this.

Or go for a drive to Nohoval cobh or kinsale.

    Cork can be very boring.

I would recommend going to a Cork hurling match but it would be a bit one sided this year:(

Fota Wildlife park would be worth a visit. A good place to spend a few hours walking around on a nice sunny day (if your lucky). Not far from the city and easily accessible by car or train.

Thanks for the suggestions - I loved Cork for its local flavor when I went last year, and plan on experiencing more of that as well while I'm there again this year.

I really appreciate all of the suggestions - they're awesome! I'm really looking forward to heading over there and really can't wait!

Re the rock climbing, Kinsale outdoor center are quite good, much better than climbing indoors as you get to see Kinsale too:)

Try a cork city football game.

Pop in to the horseshoe pub for the atmosphere although beware of the smell

Hi, I have been meaning to go to the Irish Distillers visitor centre in the place where they make Jameson Whiskey. It is about 20 mins outside Cork.

Cork has the second largest natural harbour after Sydney. There is a huge sailing scene in Cork. I have never used these people but there should be plenty of other options:

I have done plenty of sailing in the harbour and along the coast & it is a great place to sail. The harbour is a nice place to sail around, stop off in Cobh, East Ferry, Marloag or Monkstown, Crosshaven for a bite to eat & a drink.
And you could visit all of these places & more in a day, or be more adventurous and sail to Kinsale or Baltimore. Two very nice towns.

The Mardyke bar has a decent enough set up for playing pool right in the heart of the city, you can also go bowling in the bar too!

Thanks again! Seems like I'll have plenty of things to go do and see even if my buddies don't know what's around. Which is good since I managed to drag a friend along for the trip too!

    Thanks a ton!
