Cheaper for phones - Singapore or Bangkok?

Hey all, so i'm currently travelling South East Asia on my way to Oz... (Currently in Vientiane, Laos). Anyways, I rather cleverly lost my phone the other day, so am now in the market for a new one... I will be in Bangkok next week, and then Singapore a week later, so i have the choice of shopping in both places... Problem…

I will be in Bangkok next week, and then Singapore a week later, so i have the choice of shopping in both places... Problem is i won't be in a position to compare the prices, so what do ye think? In general would Singapore or Bangkok be cheaper?

Has anyone purchased a phone in Asia? Any problems/advice?

Also - is Australia an option, or would they be more expensive?

Finally, any recommendations???

One negative is that it won't be covered under a European warranty if anything goes wrong.
