    Folks,

Dryer is turned on. Lasts about 2 minutes before tripping the whole electricity. Mate who is a sparks had a look and said its defo not a problem with the electrics, it must be the machine itself. Rang a few repair places. They said its a common fault with hotpoint dryers and probably to do with the heater. Cheapest quote is €70 to come out and have a look and carry out all work (excl. parts)
Is it worth getting fixed? (Hearing a lot of negative info on Hotpoint products)
Is there anyone out there cheaper?

    Thanks in advance

How old is it? If it's pretty old, I'd say you'd possibly be better off getting a new one.

It shouldn't cost more than €100 to change the heater element (I'd doubt it'd be more than €30 for an element). Last time I checked, a callout from Hotpoint/Indesit costs about €120!!

    About 2 years old.

If getting a new one, is Bosch the best bet?

    Thanks again

Jaysus, it's quite young to be faulty already! Parts would be still covered under warranty with Hotpoint, but since they charge about €120, it's worthless warranty (except for major parts).

Bosch would definitely be a good bet. Or indeed its sister, Siemens. Miele also good, but quite expensive.
