i'm kinda wondering this myself, they have a lot of older phones available at the moment for €10 upgrade on pay monthy, so it looks like stock is being cleared out for some reason or other...

with any luck they will offer it...

From Vodafone in response to my recent query :
We are planning on releasing the HTC Magic in the summer months, however we currently do not have an exact release date.

I asked our biz account managaer the other day and he said he didn't think so and sent me the list of handsets and release dates that they do have. No sign of it on that.

    Hi,

I note that the HTC Magic has been announced for UK, Germany and
    Italy.

When will the HTC Magic be available in Ireland?

    Thanks

Both replys were from different people:

    (from athome.ie@vodafone.com)

    Dear ......

Thank you for your interest in our possible handsets, I contacted the
department in charge of releasing the handsets and they will be
launching the list of handsets that we will be launching in the
    future, next week.

And as soon as they send this onto me and I confirm if we will be
carrying the HTC Magic, I'll send you an e-mail to let you know.

If you have any further queries please contact us anytime on FreeFone
1907 and one of our Customer Care Representatives will be happy to
    assist you.

    Yours sincerely

I had a closer look there and it only has current handsets and whats coming to the end of April, which is only 2 new phones: the Samsung Tocco Ultra and the very sexy SE Xperia X1.

I got that list yesterday and it has been a while since it was so dull and uninspiring.

Was trying this phone today in Vodafone in Derry (yes they do have stock of it, if you want it bad enough) and to be honest I wasn't impressed.

If youre looking for a wow factor from a phone (eg Pre/iPhone) you wont get it from this, operating system is butter smooth, didnt like the navigation myself but it was a good experience overall.

Was really surprised how thin it was in my hand (thinner than an iPhone overall) but the trackball is useless as theres only a virtual keyboard.

Couldn't try batter life but I doubt its going to change from the reviews of it already posted on the internet.

Overall its a good phone, it won't be toppling the Iphone/Pre for a while but looking at it's future (doughnut version of v1.5, google it) it may well threaten it.
