Bengals QB Ryan Fitzpatrick signs with the Bills

LB Takeo Spikes re-signs with the 49ers

Redskins get former Bills G Derrick Dockery
(cant wait to see how much they are over the cap limit)

and contrary to previous reports Brian Dawkins hasnt signed with the Broncos yet...although he is on his way to Denver to talk

Rather pleased with that. Him and Willis were a decent duo last season

Also resigned Allen Rossum which is another positive. Prior to last year the idea of signing another ST specialist seemed laughable especially since Nedeny, Lee and Brian Jennings held those roster spots but Rossum proved me wrong especially with that end around TD against the Lions or that kickoff return against Cardinals on MNF. Good signing

ESPN have also reported we're possibly talking to Warner though it's obvious his agent is talking the Cards into giving him a better deal.

LB Michael Boley signs with the Giants

With Jason Brown brought in at center for the Rams, if we can get Bartell re-signed, Butler brought in, and a wide receiver, we COULD be on the road to an 8-8! Not to jinx it or anything.

i love the fact that 8-8 will be seen as a good season....i think they could do better depending on the impact of their rookies (whoever they turn out to be)

8-8 would prob be enough for the playoffs in the NFC West. And as we've all learned over the past couple of years its like a brand new season come January.

am very surprised at this tbh.....cant wait to see what the Chiefs had to give up in compensation to the Patriots....and then wait for preseason and gauge if it was really worth it...

Well I want to welcome Aaron Curry to New England, I know the draft has not happened but think about it, we lose trade Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel, who do you think we are gonna get?:)

And thats only for starters, really want to hear the all the deals that have been done with the Chiefs.

2nd round pick for both Cassel and Vrabel its looking like. It will give us 6 picks in the first 3 rounds though.

Good move for both i think, Cassell will be given a franchise to make his own, plus Vrabel will provide a veteran head in the LB core.

And the Patriots acquire another high draft pick for no major losses to the team

P.s Corell Buckhalter gone to MileHigh

cannot believe the Patriots let them go for so little.....

the 34th overall pick for what will become a defensive leader and a franchise QB is a bit ridiculous from the Patriots point of view...i really think the Chiefs got off lightly with this one

Brian Dawkins to Denver finally confirmed

Aaron Curry is not gonna fall that far...not a chance....he's being touted as the 1st LB to be taken so its not gonna happen...

Or, in the patriots way of thinking, 34th pick for an aging linebacker and a qb with 15 starts behind one of the best OL in the game. Cassell could be next years Derek Anderson quite easily

I think the Pats have earned the right to be trusted with trades

    I agree with Dodge.

I personally think it shows what Bellichik thinks of him.

Thinks of him??????? That makes no sense. The Patriots always intended to trade him pending the fitness of Tom Brady. The fact BB put faith in Cassel to begin with, Im pretty sure he would have stuck to that had Brady been unfit. The only reason Cassel was traded now was to free up cap room. Not because BB doesnt rate him. The Patriots were never going to let that kind of contract sit on the bench. The only team mad enough to do that would be the Raiders in fairness.

As for Vrabel I can understand why he offloaded him free up more cap room to bring in fresher bodies. But as a Pats fan its hard to swallow as Vrabel has been a great servant to the Pats. But I guess money talks.

Fantastic news for the Chiefs. We've now got a real leader at QB, something that hasn't been there since Trent Green was playing well a few years back. Croyle is too injury prone, Huard is finished and Thigpen is too raw. Exactly what was needed.

Hopefully the likes of Gonzalez will stay now.

I mentioned that before the details of the trade became public. I expected to get the No.3 pick for that trade. That is why I was expecting Aaron Curry to come to us.

I mean regardless of the cap room we have gotten rid of potentially the best if not already the very best QB available in either free agency or the draft and one of the most consistent Linbebackers in the game at the present time. I would have expected much much more for those two trades.

To be quite honest I am absolutely shocked at how bad this deal appears for us. I'm still hoping there is more to it than has been given to the media.

I think Cassel struggles outside of New England. Nice bit of business from the Chiefs

Here are his yards td and ints outside NE

    1645 9 6

Not bad numbers considering his first season and he had a shakey start due to it.

3693 21 11 were his total numbers all season.

Doesnt show that much of a struggle really as his away stats were just about 45% of his full season stats.

When I say outside I mean outside the Patriots system with Moss & Welker & all the weapons he has, along with the coaching

Without ever seeing him outside the Patriots system its hard to know how he is going to be. But he potentialy has the ability to be a good QB. He will do alright at the Chiefs if they keep Gonzalez. Cassel likes to throw short and fast so they will be fine.

He may not have Randy Moss and Wes Welker, but he has Dwayne Bowe who is still very talented. Add Tony G to the mix, and they've got basically the same passing game he had back in New England. If they can shore up their problems at RB and on the OL, I think Cassell should succeed
