Plaxico Burress has been released by the Giants

    I bet Jerry's already gobbing in Plax's agent's ear.

I really hope Shanahan doesn't end up in Dallas. Twould be a shame.

The Rams have agreed to terms with QB Kyle Boller.

Texans agreed to terms with LB Buster Davis on a one-year contract.

Quarterback Patrick Ramsey has signed a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans.

Rams agreed to terms with TE Billy Bajema, formerly of the 49ers. A four-year veteran, Bajema has seven career catches. He'll be a blocking specialist in St. Louis and contribute on all the Rams' special teams units.

Cardinals signed FB Dan Kreider, formerly of the Rams

    hmmmm thats kinda freaky timing

He's a bargain at that price. Looks certain Texans will now take a DT, they must hope that Raji falls

Raiders sign QB Jeff Garcia. Excellent back-up to have and help mentor JR.

Ravens resign CB Samari Rolle to a four year deal.
Kellen Winslow and the Buccaneers agree on six-year, $36 million extension, now the highest paid tight-end in history.

Wow. Looking forward to a hall of fame career from Kellen Winslow Jr.

Allegedly he's bone on bone now which was why Browns were willing to trade. I'd love to see the structure of that contract

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,066 ✭✭✭Sea Devils

Guess it makes sense, considering that the team traded a second rounder for him, and you don't make that kind of deal for a guy that may bolt after a couple of seasons.

Maybe they needed to make the NFL minimum salary cap (I'm not kidding!) Stripping K2's old contract out they needed to spend about $20m to make that amount.

The Rams added much-needed depth to their receiving corps by obtaining WR Laurent Robinson in a trade with the Falcons. The Rams also received Atlanta’s fifth-round (160th overall) and sixth-round (196th overall) draft choices in exchange for their own fifth-round (138th overall) and sixth-round (176th overall) selections.

The Bengals have signed DT Tank Johnson to a one-year contract

The Buccaneers have signed QB Bryon Leftwich to a two year deal

The Chiefs have signed Linebacker Zach Thomas.

Kinda ambivalent about that Laurent Robinson move. Doesn't seem to be much more than depth... good to have a veteran body though I suppose.

Isnt he only in the NFL 3 seasons now? Not exactly Veteran status. Great stats at Illinois state in D1aa but has failed to make any impact in the NFL. 42 receptions 489 yds and 1 td so far 114 odd of those yards in one game when him and Roddy White making history at Atlanta their first game with 2 WR with 100 yds. :D

Could be a sleeper though. Type of guy that didnt see alot of oppurtunity in Atlanta. Now could be his chance to prove himself.

Veteran in the sense that he's played a little more than the current 1 and 2, presumably Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton.

I look forward to him running routes then turning around and seeing Marc Bulger on the ground under an entire defensive line.

Doesnt say alot for your WR Corp when the Vet player has barely seen any game time. Avery has probably more receptions than Robinson at this stage.

Avery has nearly 10 more receptions in 6 or so less game and Avery has 200 or so more yards than Robinson. And Avery has 2 more Tds than Robinson :)

St.Louis is bad no matter what, lets not lose sleep over it

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that with this line-up:

    J. Smith Bell Brown Incognito Barron

    Karney
    Jackson

We are going to win at least four games with the run game. Maybe? Please?

Chanandler Bong, it's my job to lose sleep over it, I'm a Rams fan. The worst thing is that most of the highlight players from the Super Bowl team are still playing productively, but for other teams. Warner, Pace, Bruce, Holt. And now we have the salary cap-murderer that is Marc Bulger with a contract that means it's not feasible to even draft a future replacement high, never mind actually cut him. Along with a woeful O-line (hopefully better for 2009) and an undersized and generally poor D. Good job, Front Office.

    What's the difference?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,066 ✭✭✭Sea Devils

Bills LT Jason Peters has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, for the Eagles 2009 1st and 4th round picks and a sixth in 2010. The trade is contingent on a new contract for Peters. Of course, that hurts Philly's chances to land Bolding (or Braylon Edwards), but it also means their o-line is set for the next few years.

Edit: Also Boldin is on the market, and up to 4 teams have already asked about him. Joining the Giants and Philly, the Ravens and another unknown team have, at least, asked what would it take to get him (and it's gonna be something like a first and a third).

Jags get Torry Holt on a 3 year deal.....sooooo pleased that they made this move...lets just hope he dusnt turn out to be as much of a bust as Jerry Porter did last season :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Karlusss

Torry Holt has a lot left to do. It was really sad to see him leave St. Louis and I have to say I'll be looking out for him to hopefully do well. Let's see what your QB has, then.

Great signing and just what they need in Jacksonville. Holt is an elite receiver and he can still bring a lot to the NFL.

I don't think he's elite anymore but he's ceratinly an upgrade for the Jags in a position they've been poor for years. Nice guy too, who'll surely help any young wideouts they have.

Holt's production slump could have something to do with the sack-o-rama that happened the last two years in St. Louis. I'd say he still has the potential to be elite.
