Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

OK so the story is my friends aunty recently rang and put forward the idea of myself and this friend coming to Canada and working for 2 months after our exams. Do you think we’re too late to apply for the working holiday visa? Im getting a bit confused about all the rules etc etc etc!

Probably too late at this stage, but if you are only going for two months I wouldn't bother with the visa. I went for 3 months last summer and it worked out very expensive! Visa and "fee" cost about €500, plus insurance of €150 (which we were forced to pay by usit, despite me having perfectly good year round insurance, it didn't meet their insurance standards which were the highest our insurance people had ever seen, so basically just a scam!), plus the flights are about €100 more expensive when you have to book through usit (and they make you book through usit!), so thats 750 odd euro, exchange rate of 1.6 = 1200 dollars. You could probably expect to earn about 8-10 dollars an hour, so ur talkin 120-150 hours work before you are breaking even on the visa.
My advice would be to try and get a month or 6 weeks full time work here before you go over, and just blow all the money over there, loads to do no matter what part you go to, so many things you'll maybe never get to do/see anywhere else!

Just my €0.02 though, either way enjoy it, i'm sure you will!

As said, it's a year long visa and costs a lot of money. Absolutely no point for the sake of a couple of months. And there's almost 0 chance of you getting it. You'll be put on the waiting list, as the current period has been open since early December 2008 and the slots are grabbed up quite quickly.

Edit: Apparently even the waiting list is closed :/
